Top finalist in edX Prize
The MOOC Global Housing Design by Dick van Gameren at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment made the top 10 finalists in this annual prize for exceptional contributions to online teaching and learning.
Van Gameren and his course team – Nelson Amorin Mota, Frederique van Andel, and Rohan Varma (pictured left to right) – are passionate about improving the quality of life of people across the globe by effecting positive changes in the built environment.
Their MOOC empowers thousands worldwide to recognise the challenges and opportunities of designing and building adequate housing for a more sustainable future.
edX will announce the winner in early 2023.
ES Open Education Ambassador Awards
In conjunction with Open Education Week 2022, nine TU Delft lecturers received the Extension School Award for Open Education for their commitment and efforts to openly share knowledge and resources with the world.
Congratulations to Conny Bakker (IDE), Gautham Ram Chandra Mouli (EEMCS), Gill Slinger (TPM), Gillian Saunders-Smit (AE), Jenny Dankelman (3mE), Marian Bosch-Rekveldt (CEG), Menno Veldhorst (QuTech), Sander Otte (AS) and Tillmann Klein (ABE).
Education 2.0 Leadership Award for Willem van Valkenburg
The Extension School Executive Director was honoured at the Education 2.0 Conference in April as an exemplary leader for his sustained efforts in inspiring and guiding individuals and organisations in lifelong learning education.
“Open and continuing education is close to my heart, and I hope to continue to inspire and work with many more people to realise great positive societal impact and extend the reach of high-quality education”.
UNESCO OER Award for DigiTelPro team
In occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Open Education Awards for Excellence, three colleagues – Martijn Ouwehand, Naomi Wahls, and Wiebe Dijkstra – received this international prize for their leadership in advancing the UNESCO OER Recommendation in their own practices and in the DigiTelPro project.
The latter gives lecturers additional, practical instruments for hybrid, blended and online teaching, and supports student readiness.
